Design projects often follow the same process. From a problem or idea all the way to production, we can help you realise a commercial solution. We can help you with some or all of these steps.

Ideas

A project can start with a problem or a solution. You might have already had that Eureka moment on a great new project. Alternatively you might have a problem you are not sure how to solve? either way we can help you explore this to find the best solution.

Research

With all projects research will be needed to optimise the design. This could be as simple as helping identify the best material or manufacturing process. However it could be looking for a radical new ideas to solve your problem. Getting the research right is fundamental to ensuring the project is a success.

Sketch Concepts

Once the ideas have been explored and research has backed up the potential of the design, concepts can be considered. There might be one or one hundred ways to design your product. Now is the time to explore the options.

CAD Models

Computer aided design enables the design to be visualised in 3D. This is where the project really comes to life. From these models we can take the product to the next step and start turning them into reality.

3D Printing

Having a model you can touch and feel really makes the project begin to feel real. It gives a true sense of scale to the product.

Prototypes

A product can look great but does it work? Prototypes are crucial to making sure the product works as intended. It might take one or more to refine the design, however these give you the confidence the project is viable.

Testing

Before you can launch a product you need to make sure it is robust enough to withstand the environment it is going to be used in. Testing is key to ensure the product meets the specification. We can help identify suitable tests and undertake controlled performance analysis.

Certification

We can help you make sure your product meets all the regulatory requirements. Standards in different markets can be a minefield for new products. We can help identify the right level of certification required for your product. This can be anything from CE and UKCA certification to industry specific requirements like ATEX, medical devices, rail specific standards...

Packaging

A finished product is great. But how are you going to package it? What instructions does it need? What else needs to go in the box to make the product work. We can help you bring all this together so your product is ready to launch.

Production

We have links with lots of manufacturers for helping you get your product made. This might be in the UK or the far east. With years of experience on bringing products to market we can advise on the best way forwards for your product. We can also help you set up suitable quality control systems with any supplier to ensure the product meets your requirements.
