This is just a small selection of projects we have worked on. Many are covered by intellectual property and patents and it would not be right to share them here. Hopefully it gives you an idea of the types of work we undertake.
Tracking device
This project developed a new tracking device using wireless technology. Tile trackers and base stations were developed to track people in large buildings where mobile signal can be difficult to obtain.
Key areas covered:
Concept development
CAD design
3D prototypes
Electronics integration
Train signalling baton
The signalling baton was designed for the rail market to dispatch trains from stations. Increased visibility was achieved by adding a multi colour LED ring light to the design, visible from over 50 metres away.
Key areas covered:
Concept development
CAD design
3D prototypes
Electronics integration
Testing and certification
Sourcing manufacture in China
Packaging
K-stove
A nice little project to develop a flat pack cooking stove from sheet-metal. The design is lightweight so it can easily be carried for camping. All the parts slot together quickly with no fixings or tools required. All you need is a few sticks and a spark and you can be cooking in minutes. The heat generated is great and can boil a litre of water in less than 2 minutes.
Key areas covered:
Concept development
CAD design
Sourcing UK manufacture
Quality control on initial batch production
Industrial dryer
This design project looked at creating a simple case for a new Industrial drying device. All the electronics components had to be tightly packaged to ensure the device could easily be carried.
Key areas covered:
Sheet-metal box design
Electronics integration
Sourcing UK manufacture
Low volume production
Product block models
A number of my clients provide custom solutions to existing products. Often this means recreating block models of the original product to ensure they fit in their new environments. The product shown here is a wearable camera. This is fitted to a bespoke holster. This method means the factory and quality control can use a cheaper alternative to expensive products for verification.
Key areas covered:
CAD design and 3D scanning
3D printing
Quality control
Cycle warning sign
The cycle warning sign is designed to be fitted to heavy goods vehicles. It illuminates when the indicator is used. This gives increased awareness the vehicle will cross into the path of cyclists.
Key areas covered:
Concept development
CAD design
Mould tool design and verification
Electronics integration
Sourcing manufacture in China
